LT Operations Funding Update
1030 GMT 19 February 2010
In December 2009, STFC announced the outcome of its science programme prioritisation. Within this the Liverpool Telescope was identified for managed withdrawal. Since then, STFC and LJMU have been in discussion on the implementation process for this decision. We are pleased to announce that the STFC contribution to the Liverpool Telescope operational funding will continue in line with its recent grant renewal and with STFC Council's announcement on current university exploitation grants. The current LT grant has an end date of 2014 with a review point at 2012. STFC and LJMU have agreed that this mid-grant review of the STFC support for LT operations will take place as planned and will set the level of support going forwards from then. We welcome this stability and confirm that the normal announcement of opportunity for PATT time in the coming semesters will be issued shortly.
